The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, affirmed that the Syrian state will continue its efforts to enhance security and stability on all its lands, improve the humanitarian situation, rebuild what was destroyed by terrorism, and facilitate the return of refugees.
During his meeting with a group of the Syrian community in the United States on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, Miqdad gave a comprehensive presentation of the developments in Syria, in particular Amnesty Decree No. (7), which is of exceptional importance in its legal, social and political nature, and reflects an advanced stage within the framework of the will and efforts The Syrian state continues to consolidate national reconciliation.
Miqdad referred to the negative effects and repercussions of terrorism, the economic blockade, and the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria, which cause great suffering to its people, adding: that although the terrorist war left an expensive experience on the Syrian people, it failed to achieve Its goals, including breaking Syria's will and isolating it from its surroundings and from the world.
Al-Miqdad listened to the community's proposals regarding the completion of consular transactions and the difficulties they face as a result of the US administration's closure of the Syrian embassy in Washington and its honorary consulates in the United States.
In turn, the members of the community stressed their support for their homeland, Syria, and their appreciation for the sacrifices made by the Syrian Arab Army in defeating terrorism and the efforts made by the state to provide the basic needs of citizens and its interest in caring for the affairs of expatriates abroad.
