French astronaut Thomas Pesquet intends to be part of the next lunar missions.
Missions supposed to prepare the way for the sequel: the conquest of Mars.
If no one yet knows on what horizon man will manage to set foot on another planet for the first time, Omega already knows with which watch to do so.
“Anyone interested in space, or even science fiction, is obsessed with Mars,
explains Raynald Aeschlimann, head of the famous Swiss watch brand.
It aroused so much curiosity, so many incredible stories.
We even created a name for its imaginary inhabitants.
It's so close and yet so far.
We yearn to explore its surface.
Being here on Earth and being able to follow its movements, gives the term timepiece a whole new meaning.
I am delighted with this new addition to the renowned Speedmaster family."

The brand that has been supporting NASA astronauts since the first hours of the space conquest has just unveiled the latest evolution of its Speedmaster X-33.
A Marstimer with the most explicit name and color.
This titanium chronograph, 45 mm in diameter, cut to be worn in space, features an ultra-precise and thermo-compensated Omega 5622 quartz movement.
This allows it to combine an analog time display with digital functions developed under a license patented by the ESA.
They notably include an MTC function to follow the date and time from the ground of Mars to the prime meridian, taking into account that a day on Mars lasts 39 minutes longer than on Earth.
Added to this is an innovative solar compass,
to find true north on planet Earth and Mars.
Its wearers also have access to the applications available on the traditional Speedmaster Skywalker X33, such as MET (Mission Elapsed Time), PET (Phase Elapsed Time), alarms and the perpetual calendar.
