The head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Palitsky announced that the referendum in the Ukrainian-controlled region of the Zaporozhye region will be held after its liberation.
"The results are published only in the regions where the referendum was held, and when we push the line of contact further, a separate referendum will be held in those territories," the Russian RIA Novosti news agency quoted Palitsky as saying today during a meeting with international observers.
He noted that the fate of the remaining part of the Zaporozhye region will be decided by its residents after its liberation.
Voting in the referendum on the accession of the People's Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Russia began last Friday morning and is scheduled to continue until today.
