Suspected murder in the streets: a man murdered his wife and then set their house on fire

A 30-year-old woman was found dead tonight (Tuesday) after a fire broke out in her apartment in Rehovot.

Her husband, who was evacuated from the scene in serious condition, was questioned on suspicion of murder, after signs of violence were found on the woman's body.

Their four-year-old daughter was also evacuated from the scene in a moderate condition, as well as the suspect's father, who is in a minor condition.

The event began with receiving a report from fire and rescue officials about a fire in the city, and at the end of the fire the woman was found lifeless.

This was not preceded by reports to the police or other reported incidents of violence.

The three injured were evacuated from the scene to Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, while the suspect's father and the suspect's house were slightly damaged by smoke inhalation.

The police reviewed the findings and evidence collected at the scene, and at the end of the incident Superintendent Avi Biton instructed that the investigation be conducted by the crime-fighting unit of the Shepela area.
