A field day for dialogues and interviews was included today in the plan of the project to document the elements of the Syrian intangible heritage, which is implemented by the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Syrian Trust for Development, and the civil society in the heritage markets of Homs, and the old neighborhoods of the city.

Sherine Naddaf from the Living Heritage Program at the Syrian Trust for Development indicated that the training of participants today included a tour of the old city and its markets in the center of Homs, and samples from the local community, owners of heritage craft activities, were targeted, and dialogues were held with them by the participants, with the aim of filling out the form and the questions set Within the project, which received a positive response from people.

The coordinator of the field project, Nisreen Shaheen, pointed out that the goal of the field tours, which have been going on for several months, is to document and preserve the intangible heritage of the old city of Homs, and to count and document professions, customs, traditions, rituals and holidays, and to familiarize people with them with the aim of reviving what has been lost or perished, noting the participation of a number of volunteers from the Association The Syrian Development Loyalty, Mada Cultural Project and the Historical Scientific Society, in addition to cadres in the Directorate of Culture and Civil Society.

A number of project volunteers expressed their gratitude for this participation, as it constitutes a pioneering experience for them, and gives them more experiences and knowledge about the Syrian heritage, for which the war has caused great damage, indicating that such a project works to revive heritage in all its aspects, by collecting many of information, and disseminate it to people to preserve our heritage, preserve its continuity, and achieve development.

It is noteworthy that the project was launched yesterday in Homs, with the aim of preserving the elements of the intangible Syrian heritage and preserving it for future generations, and it will continue for three months.
