The trip to the 43rd Alpine Championships in Schlierachgau was once again worthwhile for the finger hookers from Gau Auerberg: they returned to Auerberg as champions.

Bernbeuren

- With a fully occupied bus, the Fingerhakler-Gau Auerberg drove to Warngau for the Alpine Championship - which was also the German Championship.

150 hookers with their battle strollers found their way to their gym.

The competition started with the strong junior class: 14 of the 33 participants were hookers from Gau Auerberg.

The first three places went to Benedikt Hipp (champion), Simon Schnitzer (vice-champion) and Manuel Mangold.

Fast at 30 points

Willibald Hipp further extended the points lead with his championship title in the juniors.

Vice-champion Hans-Peter Reichart only had to admit defeat to his opponent Ferdinand Seitz (Gau Altmühltal) in age group 2.

Together with Magnus Eierstock, however, he increased the overall rating of the Auerbergler to 30 points.

Hubert Greisel became Vice Champion in the 1st age group.

The Ammergau also dominated in the next two classes (age group 1 heavy/lightweight): Josef Waibl took third place in the lightweight category and thus gained further important points for the overall standings.

In the middleweight division, Auerrberg did not score points, so the lead of Gau Auerberg was almost overtaken by Ammergau.

The Isargau also caught up in the light heavyweight division and drew level with the Ammergau.

Magnus Reichert took fourth place and collected three points.

In the premier class, the heavyweight division, 27 Haklers fought.

However, this class was dominated by Markus Geisenhof from Gau Auerberg, who was champion again.

Philipp Schuster secured an additional point with sixth place.

Fifth cup is duly celebrated in Bernbeuren

In the overall ranking, the hookers from Auerberg scored a total of 49 points and thus the championship title.

"This is the fifth cup in the hooker year 2022 that the Gau Auerberg has won, including two school championships," says a statement from the finger hookers.
