In his speech, General Mahmoud al-Shawa, Deputy Minister of Defense and Head of the Joint Committee of the Wounded Home Project, affirmed that the wounded are heroes in war, peace, science and work, and that the educational support matrix, when it was launched, was not only aimed at obtaining scientific certificates for the wounded, but rather the deeper goal is their possession of appropriate tools and scientific specialization. Which qualifies them to produce and work in society, and thus science is their gateway to a better future.”

Dr. Socrates Ahmed, the first war-wounded who received a doctorate in agricultural engineering, spoke about his success story, which is full of determination and excellence, calling on his wounded colleagues to continue their education.

The wounded Obeida Al-Hajj, the first outstanding student in the secondary certificate - the scientific branch, confirmed in the speech of the outstanding wounded their adherence to the pen, the book and the work, and their keenness to continue their educational attainment after they fulfilled their national duty with honesty and sincerity.

During the ceremony, the Wounded Asef Suleiman choir presented a piece of patriotic songs, followed by a short video that includes stations from the journey of the outstanding wounded in all academic levels and the support provided by the Wounded Home Project to help them overcome difficulties and achieve their scientific achievements.

Ghinwa Abdel Rahim, director of the Wounded Home Project team in Tartous, said in a press statement: The aim of the honor is to motivate the rest of the wounded to continue their education, as the paths are open to their will and ability, noting that the number of successful wounded this year exceeded one hundred, and today's honor targets the wounded who have achieved a success rate of 80 percent and above, and they are 16 wounded in the basic, secondary and university education certificates.

A number of the honored wounded stressed, in interviews with SANA’s reporter, the importance of honoring and the great attention paid by President Bashar al-Assad and Ms. Asma al-Assad and the Wounded Home project for the wounded in their educational path and other fields.

The wounded Ali Abdullah, a graduate of Business Administration from Al-Manara Private University, said: He is in the process of preparing for a master's degree, as physical injury is not an obstacle to thought and reason, stressing his keenness to contribute with the people of the country to the reconstruction of Syria.

In turn, the wounded Mahmoud Asaad considered that his success in basic education is an optimal investment of time, pointing out that he aspires to study law after obtaining high school.

The wounded Firas Khader, who has a basic education certificate, saw that his injury, which led to the amputation of a left lower limb after 5 years, along with his colleagues from the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army gave him a push forward.

The wounded Muhammad Abu Ali, who aspires to study history, found, after four injuries, to be successful and superior in any field he chooses, considering the honor a good gesture and an incentive to exert more effort and fatigue, praising the great interest in the wounded in various fields under difficult life circumstances.

It is worth noting that the Wounded Home project expanded the matrix of educational support during the years 2021 and 2022, placing university education in front of all disability segments, including the partial disability segment, and thus the number of wounded people who benefited from educational support to complete their educational attainment doubled.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Tartous Governor Abdel Halim Awad Khalil, the Secretary of the Party Branch, and representatives from the Ministries of Tourism and Education in Tartous and Lattakia.
