The Tegernsee fire brigade can look forward to an addition: A new command vehicle (ELW) is now part of the vehicle fleet, as is an equipment vehicle for personnel decontamination.
Now they have been blessed.
Tegernsee - In the presence of numerous guests, including Duchess Anna in Bavaria, Mayor Johannes Hagn and district fire officer Anton Riblinger, the pastors Monsignor Walter Waldschütz and Martin Weber blessed the vehicles on the Schlossplatz.
They also emphasized the growing importance of fire brigades for the safety of the population and their resulting undisputed leading position in terms of acceptance.
They also prayed for God's protection and blessings for all who will bring help with these vehicles in the future.
New vehicles for the Tegernsee fire brigade: Foundation and association help with financing
In short speeches, Commander Wolfgang Winkler and fire brigade chief Franz Thum outlined how and why the procurement came about.
The new ELW, a Mercedes Sprinter worth over 200,000 euros, replaces an approximately 30-year-old predecessor vehicle that not only could no longer meet the requirements that are now placed on such a vehicle in any way, but also technically in a very bad condition.
Earlier procurement was not possible, since accommodation in the old Tegernsee fire station was not possible for reasons of space.
The new, all-wheel-drive vehicle has all the necessary information and communication equipment to effectively support the operations manager, especially in the event of a major disaster.
Its procurement was supported by generous donations from the Hubertus Altgelt Foundation and the E-Werk Tegernsee.
The fire brigade association contributed the proud sum of 100,000 euros from the annual house collection.
Equipment truck blessed by the fire brigade: decontamination of people possible here
The decontamination personnel (Dekon-P) equipment vehicle is a vehicle provided by the federal government as part of civil defense and disaster control, which is designed for use in NBC damage situations or in the event of accidents involving hazardous substances and was last parked in Weyarn.
Those affected and emergency services who have come into contact with dangerous substances can be cleaned and decontaminated on it.
The vehicle is the only one of its kind in the area and is available both locally and regionally.
Mayor Hagn added that major efforts are still needed, especially in the area of disaster and flood protection.
Therefore, the city is not only investing in the procurement of vehicles and equipment, but above all in the construction of the new fire station, which will meet all current and foreseeable requirements.
