The Criminal Security Branch in Damascus arrested two people, one of whom runs a betting network, promotes (gambling) games online, and transfers sums of US dollars outside the country.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that after information was received to the Criminal Security Branch in Damascus about the presence of people running a game (gambling) via the Internet for nightclubs outside the country in their office located in the locality (Jaramana) in Damascus countryside, and through the investigation of information, Oversight of the suspected office, two people were arrested.

The ministry pointed out that by investigating the office, five laptops were found in it, which they use in gambling (roulette), sums of money amounting to fourteen thousand US dollars, three million five hundred thousand Syrian pounds, a money-counting machine, and a large number of trust bonds.

The ministry indicated that one of the arrested was selling credit for this game, which is run outside the country, and then transferring the money for the balance in US dollars outside the country in illegal ways, as they were brought with the confiscations to the Criminal Security Branch Center in Damascus, and investigations are still ongoing with them to arrest the the rest of those involved.
