Prince Harry has tried to tone down his memoir, which was announced for the fall, as he feared it "would not go down well" after the Queen's death.

London – Farewell and funeral of Queen Elizabeth II (96, † 2022) are unparalleled in size and agitated emotion.

Millions of people waited in an endless queue, mostly for more than ten hours, just to spend seconds in front of the Queen in Westminster Hall and to be able to say goodbye to her Queen in person.

The gigantic wave of grief that flooded London did not escape her grandson Prince Harry (38).

In view of the Queen's death, the memoirs appear irreverent

In a panic,

Prince Harry "desperately" tried to make last-minute changes to his apparently explosive memoirs after the death of his royal grandmother.

So shortly after the death of the popular regent and the accession of his father Charles III.

(73) he probably fears that some passages are "insensitive".

But of course the publisher also wants to have offered something for half of the 35 million pounds (almost 40 million euros) deal.

Initially announced full-bodied, the expectations of the second-born's memories were high.

However, when the time came, Penguin Random House remained silent about the publication date despite repeated inquiries.

The background was apparently an improvement of the first draft.

The version was said to be touchy-feely, "too emotional" and "focused on mental problems".

In addition, the pre-sale figures were far behind the publisher's assumptions.

Prince Harry's memoir deal with Random House

A relatively specific period for Prince Harry's memoirs was announced "tentatively for the end of 2022".

"An inspiring, courageous and uplifting human story", it should be.

The announcement went on to say he would publish the books "not as the prince I was born to be, but as the man I became."

"Eventually the final draft was finalized and approved, and a great deal of money and energy was expended to ensure the book would be out later this year," it said.

But the Queen's death changes everything for the royal author: Harry would have wanted to change whole sections, the pitch had to be tweaked.

Whether he can assert himself with the softer variant seems to be still in the balance.

"It could also be too late," the source told The Sun.

A source told The Sun on Sunday the publisher had pledged the millions for a four-title deal because of the prince's fame around the world.

Now the tension is rising as to when Prince Harry's work will actually end up on the bookshelves.

Where the publisher is more worried, the royal family can breathe easy, Harry's attempt at rectification can also be seen as a sign of reconciliation.
