Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that Europe's abandonment of consensus in political decision-making in the European Union will undermine its unity.

“Brussels must understand that departing from consensus will undermine the legal, even philosophical and political base of the European Union, and if the Union refuses to reach consensus, this will end the basis of European unity, at least in the form as we know it,” RIA Novosti quoted Zakharova as saying on the Telegram website. .

Earlier, Zakharova considered that the inability of the European Union to analyze objectively, the lack of independence in decision-making, and the adoption of double standards, is what prevents this bloc from agreeing with its neighbors, undermines trust in it, and deprives it of respect in its relations with the international community.
