Arab residents set fire to tires and threw stones at the Azon intersection near Route 55 • The spatial defense officer of the IOS Division explained the preparation for trips to the area during the holidays: "It is better to coordinate each trip in the various sectors in order to travel safely"

In Judea and Samaria, observers are worried about the continued escalation in the Jenin area, and with growing fear of a further increase in terrorist incidents.

It is true that the exchange of fire between the IDF and the terrorists took place deep within the territories of the Palestinian Authority, but in the past such events also spilled over into territories under Israeli control.

Today (Wednesday), Arabs set tires on fire at the Azon intersection near Highway 55 and stoned vehicles on the road and damaged the windshields of two buses. Yesterday, stones and Molotov cocktails were thrown at vehicles and buses in Yosh, which ended in damage and no casualties. These incidents joined dozens of incidents of stone throwing, Molotov cocktails as well as shooting at the security forces during Rosh Hashanah.

Threats on the road in Yosh: throwing stones at vehicles in the Kfar Azon area

Along with the many tensions, the civilian routine of life in Judea and Samaria is preserved.

In preparation for Yom Kippur and Beitar Sha'it during the Sukkot holiday, Yosh is preparing for the arrival of tens of thousands of visitors. In the coming days, many are expected to come to prayer meetings at the Prophet Shmuel's tomb and Rachel's tomb, and on the Sukkot holiday they will be joined by many who will come to the Cave of the Patriarchs, which will be fully opened on some days, to the ancient Tel Shiloh and many other sites.

The IDF makes it clear that alongside the increased activity against terrorists, they make sure to preserve the civilian routine. "We are preparing for the holiday season like any other holiday season, of course subject to changes in the assessment of the situation in light of recent events," says Lt. Col. Elitzur Trabalsi, the territorial defense officer of IOS Division.

"We are preparing for thousands of visitors to Yosh at the designated sites, at the springs and at the unknown tourist spots, when our concept is that the citizen will meet routine and the terrorist will meet the army."

In addition to the security of major events, the IDF prepares for situations in which Israelis will request to travel in areas that are not traveled on a daily basis. In some cases, these are regulated events, and some of the applications have already been submitted to the IDF in order to obtain approval and security as required, and in some cases, these are travelers who do not regulate and update the IDF, which could be a danger.

"There are quite a few phenomena of people arriving without coordination, and sometimes it is a lack of responsibility. It is necessary to travel with security and responsibility - security, on the part of the IDF, and responsibility on the part of the travelers.

There is no reason to fear trips, but the trips must be coordinated in order to prepare accordingly.

We appeal to everyone and request - it is better to coordinate each trip in the various sectors in order to travel safely," Trabalsi concludes.

The Civil Administration also says that they have finished their preparations for the arrival of the thousands as they do every year.

Religious Staff Officer in the Civil Administration, Shaul Batish: "Like every year, I am excited to see how the ancient sites in Judea and Samaria take on a holiday and are filled with visitors and worshipers for the Tishrei holidays."

The Civil Administration stated that all the sites and events of the forgiveness in Judea and Samaria will be secured by the security forces. "We call on the public to obey the instructions of the security forces in the region.

Also, in preparation for the various events, there may be changes in the traffic arrangements - including blocking the entry of private vehicles - to the sites.

It is recommended to be informed about this in advance on the Israel Police website.

Information on the opening hours of the sites can be found on the websites of the Cave of the Patriarchs, Rachel's Tomb, Shmuel the Prophet's Tomb and the National Center for the Development of the Holy Places.
