On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Syrian thinker Father Elias Zahlawi's membership in the Arab Writers Union in Syria, the Damascus Writers Union branch organized today an honorary dialogue seminar.
The head of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad al-Hourani, pointed out in the opening ceremony of the symposium that Father Zahlawi is a cultural, knowledge and human figure who, over the years of his fruitful work, instilled the authentic Syrian human values based on love and loyalty to the land and man, reviewing the many noble national initiatives that he took, in the service of Syria and its people. Adhering to the purity of its soil.
The head of the Damascus branch of the Arab Writers Union, Dr. Ibrahim Zaarour, stated that Father Zahlawi is a rich intellectual, multi-talented, researcher, translator, writer and writer, while the media personality, Mulham Al-Saleh, who moderated the symposium, knew the audience, who were from different age groups, on Father Zahlawi’s writings, which reached fifty. book, and the humanitarian and intellectual work he is doing in the face of the war that Syria has been subjected to.
The dialogue session, which lasted for more than an hour and a half, focused on Father Zahlawi’s long experience in intellectual, humanitarian and cultural work that he lived through, and he expressed his opinion on many axes that were raised by different generations from a cultural point of view, regarding translation, theater, the Palestinian cause, and what countries are experiencing. Al-Arabiya from Zionist conspiracies, presenting his visions in building bridges of constructive dialogue and love within the homeland and throughout the world.
Father Zahlawi stressed that Syria will emerge from its ordeal strong and impregnable, calling for re-thinking and devoting dialogues in the field of studying the societal situation, in order to avoid the gaps that occurred throughout the years of war, and to learn from our experiences to serve the future of Syria and its children.
At the end of the meeting, an honorary shield was presented to Father Zahlawi by the President of the Federation and members of the Executive Office.
