A man was arrested Wednesday morning and placed in police custody in Essonne, south of Paris, suspected of having killed his partner overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday in Évry, AFP learned on Wednesday from police sources.
An investigation for murder of a spouse has been opened and entrusted to the Essonne departmental security, said the Evry prosecution.
According to the first elements of the investigation, their 13-year-old daughter reported a violent argument between her father and her mother.
When the police arrived at the scene, the 48-year-old man was missing.

On the body of the victim, aged 43, the police found traces of wounds that may have been caused by a sharp object, on the right and left sides, as well as in the throat, specifies the police source.
The father was then arrested in Viry-Châtillon, Wednesday morning, and placed in hospital custody, said the Évry prosecution.
It was firefighters who first found him, notifying the police of the presence of a shirtless man in Viry-Châtillon, said another police source.
The man had wounds and allegedly injured his chest with a knife, two police sources said.
According to the first searches carried out in police files, this man was not known to the services for domestic violence.
