A “decarbonized” traveling circus is freewheeling on the roads of Finistère until October 12. The objective of the 40 artists, technician

They left Brest (Finistère) in the rain, 40, each on his bike, with a total of 1.8 tonnes of equipment in their bags.

The objective: to survey 151 km on the roads of the department, and more precisely of the Monts-d'Arrée and Cap-Sizun sector, to meet the inhabitants, and to perform on site.

On the program, in Brasparts (from September 28 to October 2) then in Pont-Croix (from October 5 to 9), a succession of enjoyable scenes in the company of four clowns, a tightrope walker, a duo of crazy puppeteers, a pro aerial fabric and a knife launcher (and axes, among others)!

The originality of this original tour: raise awareness of soft mobility, decarbonize actions and the running of each show as much as possible, and experience them as close as possible to inhabitants and local associations.

"It's also creating social ties," explains Sylvain Quivoron, from the Fourneau team, who is co-organizing this funny adventure with the Galapiat circus, a modern circus company now based in Minihy-Tréguier (Côtes-d'Armor). ).

“The project (170,000 euros budget, largely subsidized) is unprecedented in France on this scale.

We arrive in each municipality and we build, with the inhabitants, the stage, the bar (which we will leave free for the management and the benefits to the locals), the reception, the whole place of the festival which is free and open to all audiences," he says.

“The idea is to be independent for sound and light”

At the end of their first festival, in Brasparts, the team will dismantle the whole stage and set off again on the roads towards Pont-Croix, with a short stopover in Châteaulin on the way.

"Motorists will be warned", laughs Sylvain Quivoron, who adds all the same that the artists of Galapiat and their fellow associates for this project, are "already real cycling aficionados".

Even more original, the public will be invited to pedal on the spot to produce the electricity needed for the evening show itself!

“We have developed an electricity-generating bicycle!

The idea being to be autonomous for the sound and the light… We learn to be less greedy in energy.

Our shows therefore adapt to this”.

For two hours of spectacle, it will be necessary to pedal eight hours in total!

To keep track of the adventure, a partnership was created with the association of radiophonic creation Longue d'Ondes.

A logbook-podcast will be available online every two days (and a live one organized every weekend).
