Socking

- Together, the two rescue organizations demonstrated various scenarios at the Long Night of the Fire Brigade on Saturday, for example a search for missing persons with volunteers from the fire brigade and the DLRG rescue dog squadron (photo on the right) with the support of the drone.

Söcking's fire brigade chairman Fritz Obermeier was not only enthusiastic about this demonstration, but about the entire Long Night.

500 to 600 people came, he says – almost twice as many as at a conventional open day.

"We never would have thought that," admits Obermeier and also thanks the bike institute for the cooperation.

That's why the fire brigade is already considering moving the program to the afternoon and evening hours in the next few years.

The DLRG also spoke of a "very successful event".

For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned that the rapid deployment groups for water rescue, diving and drones, as well as the rescue dog squadron, together with forces from the water rescue service and the fire brigade, were alerted immediately afterwards, around 11:30 p.m., to two real missing person searches in Starnberg and Tutzing.

In both cases, the missing persons could be found.
