The Ministry of Health announced today that the cumulative total number of cholera cases confirmed by rapid testing in the country has risen to 426, distributed in Aleppo 260, Deir Ezzor 72, Hasaka 30, Raqqa 26, Latakia 19, Homs 5, Damascus 5, As-Suwayda 5, Daraa 3 and Quneitra 1.
According to a ministry statement, SANA received a copy of it today, the cumulative total number of deaths from cholera reached 33, distributed in Aleppo 28, al-Hasakah 3 and Deir ez-Zor 2, noting that most of the deaths were caused by the delay in seeking early medical advice, or by people suffering from chronic diseases.
The ministry called for the need to follow public health procedures represented in washing hands with soap and water frequently and drinking water from a safe source. Drinking or eating anything of unknown source or suspected of its safety, and seek early medical advice if infection is suspected.
It also called on the ministry to follow its official platforms on the Internet and social networking sites.
