Ryan Reynolds just delivered some big news for the movie world.
The actor said Tuesday that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the next "Deadpool" movie, scheduled for release on Sept. 6, 2024.
"Hey everyone, we're so sad to have missed D23, but I've been working really hard on the next 'Deadpool' movie for a long time," Reynolds says in a video posted on Instagram, referring to the Disney convention he had. place earlier this month.
He added that he wanted to make Deadpool's first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (since this is the first "Deadpool" movie to be produced after Disney's purchase of 20th Century Fox) "special" and said he sought "staying true to the character, finding new depth, motivation, meaning."

“Each 'Deadpool' needs to stand out and differentiate itself.
It has been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach deep inside.
And I… I have nothing,” he deadpanned.
“Yeah, he's just completely empty up here.
And he is terrifying.
But we did have an idea.”
Enter Jackman, or a large body double, who Reynolds talks to as he walks in the background.
"Hey Hugh, do you want to play Wolverine one more time?" Reynolds asks.
“Yeah, sure, Ryan,” Jackman replies nonchalantly.
Deadpool was introduced in 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," but he's totally different than the know-it-all version of the solo movies.
Wolverine died in the movie "Logan", so Jackman's appearance will require a bit of a "Let's ignore a lot of history" kind of game, but they'll probably have fun with that, just as they clearly did when making the Wolverine logo. close at the end of Reynolds' video.
Jackman and Reynolds have had a remarkable friendship that has included bantering with each other on social media.
This will be the third film in the successful "Deadpool" franchise, which includes two films released in 2016 and 2018.
