Merz and social fraud: Far from the real problem

Friedrich Merz's statements paralyze another debate that should actually be conducted carefully.

A comment by Christian Deutschländer.

The chief of the blacks and his blackout outraged the republic.

What on earth did Friedrich Merz think of putting Ukrainian war refugees under blanket suspicion of social rip-offs?

The data does not show that apart from individual cases, not even in the rather suspicious Bavarian ministries.

And certainly not the mood that even an opposition leader has to look at.

A wave of support from private citizens has caught hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians fleeing Russian missiles and atrocities against civilians.

Our country can be proud of these open arms.

A general suspicion works like poison.

Merz to Ukraine: A gross blunder, doubly annoying

So much for Merz – a gross blunder, which also does not match his hitherto consistent Ukraine line.

This is doubly annoying, because it paralyzes another debate that should actually be conducted carefully.

The labor market and social policy of the traffic light government actually accepts false incentives, not only, but also for migrants.

Rejected asylum seekers are also to receive significantly increased benefits far in excess of the refugee aid, while at the same time the traffic light in trusting stupidity cancels sanctions for those unwilling to work.

That doesn't fit at all.

What happens now: Everything is raging about Merz, his choice of words and even his apology are dissected.

The real problem isn't talked about, and anyone who addresses it in this atmosphere is quickly labeled as a populist and agitator.

This excitement machine does not get politics any further.
