Jair Bolsonaro today obtained veiled support from Neymar.

In a video, the player thanks the "illustrious visit" of the Brazilian president to the headquarters of the Neymar Jr. Institute, an institution that assists low-income children and their families in the south of the city of São Paulo.

The recorded greeting, enthusiastically replicated on the campaign's social networks, is a boost for Bolsonaro just four days before the elections in which he will seek a new mandate.

Neymar, however, was very careful not to anticipate his vote.

"This is for President Bolsonaro, Tarcísio, Michelle," Neymar's video begins, with a reference to Tarcísio Gomes, the ruling party's candidate for governor of the State of São Paulo, and the first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro.

“I appreciate your illustrious view.

I really wanted to be here, but unfortunately I'm far away;

but next time we will be together.

I hope you take advantage of this visit to the Institute, which is the best goal I've ever scored.

I am very happy that you are there”, says Neymar in the recorded message.

The player did not accompany Bolsonaro during the visit because on Wednesday he played a friendly for the national team in Tunisia.

Last August, the player gave Bolsonaro an autographed ball.

And in 2018 he referred to Bolsonaro's victory, but he has never declared his vote.

"I hope that God can use it in some way to help our country," he said four years ago when Bolsonaro had already been proclaimed the winner of the elections.

In 2014 he had taken sides with Aécio Neves, the center-right candidate who finally lost in the second round against Dilma Rousseff, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's candidate in those elections.

The visit to the Neymar Jr. Institute was part of the final stretch of Bolsonaro's electoral campaign.

The president took photos with the families who live there, while his campaign team uploaded the videos of the day to social networks.

Later, Bolsonaro headed to the city of Santos, the birthplace of Pelé.

There he held one of his traditional motorcyclist caravans, a very showy event that generates massive and colorful images.
