The “Qasd” militia, backed by the American occupation forces, attacked demonstrators, including parents and school students in the city of Qamishli, who gathered in front of the United Nations building on Al-Seyahi Street to protest against the militia’s closure of private and public institutes and schools that teach the curriculum of the Syrian Ministry of Education.

Local sources told SANA reporter that gunmen affiliated with the "SDF" militia dispersed the protesters against the militia's repressive practices, which caused depriving them of education by force of arms, beating them and kidnapping a number of them, noting that the militia brought in military reinforcements cordoned off the sit-in and beat the holders of banners bearing the phrases demanding By removing the hand from schools and reopening schools that teach government curricula.

The sources indicated that a number of teachers from the "Al-Amal Institute" were attacked, and three students and teachers who were carrying banners denouncing the closure of schools were kidnapped, and a number of parents who were documenting the demonstration were attacked.

The “Qasd” militia closed private institutes and schools two weeks ago in the city of Qamishli and deprived students of their right to education, after it had seized, since 2014, the majority of government schools in the governorate, banned teaching in them and turned them into military headquarters and prisons.
