Tartous-Sana
The Directorate of Agriculture in Tartous estimated the governorate's total production of the pomegranate crop for the current season at about 8176 tons.
The head of the Plant Production Department, Eng. Mohamed Hassan, told SANA reporter that production witnessed an increase, compared to the previous season, estimated at 7,436 tons, as production is subject to changes in climatic factors.
Hassan indicated that the areas planted with pomegranate amount to about 160 hectares, and the total number of trees is about 391,951 trees, of which 354,124 are fruitful.
