The authorities in Burkina Faso announced that the death toll from the terrorist attack that took place the day before yesterday in the north of the country has risen to at least 11, while about 50 others are considered missing.
And the French press agency quoted a government spokesman in Ouagadougou as saying that “a supply convoy heading to the city of Djibo was subjected to a barbaric attack, and the temporary toll is 11 soldiers, whose bodies were found and 28 wounded,” adding that “about 50 civilians are also missing, and the search operations are for them.” continuing.”
For his part, a security source stated that the death toll was likely to rise further, and said that "practically the entire convoy, including vehicles and foodstuffs, was burned."
A previous toll, reported by security sources yesterday, stated that at least ten people were killed in the attack.
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has witnessed attacks by terrorist groups affiliated with the terrorist organizations (Al-Qaeda and ISIS), while these acts of violence have left thousands of dead, and nearly two million displaced.
