The European Union condemns the activity in Jenin during which terrorists were eliminated: "condemn the loss of life" | Israel today

The European Union Commission calls the IDF's action an "invasion" and warns of a surge in violence in the West Bank. Additional attacks • The heads of the 'Lech Jerusalem' organization and the 'If You Want' movement call for the expulsion of the European ambassador from Israel

Today (Wednesday), the European Union Delegation for Palestinian Affairs published a sharp and controversial statement condemning the activities of the security forces in Jenin, in which five Palestinians were killed - at least two of them terrorists, and probably more - and several dozen were injured.

"We condemn the loss of life and warn of a surge in violence today in Jenin, following incursions by the Israeli security forces that killed several Palestinians and injured at least 40," reads the message posted by the embassy on Twitter.

It was also written that "all parties must apply maximum restraint in the use of lethal force, this is in order to prevent loss of life and to avoid fueling further tensions in the West Bank, in a situation that is also quite sensitive. The violence must stop immediately."

The announcement of the Union's mission said nothing about the circumstances for which the Navy and IDF fighters entered Jenin - a pursuit of terrorists who carried out shooting attacks against Israelis and were engaged in planning additional attacks.

In response to the European announcement, Maor Tzemach, chairman of the "Lech Jerusalem" organization, and Mattan Peleg, chairman of the "If You Want" movement, called for the expulsion from Israel of the EU ambassador to the Palestinian Authority, Sven von Burgdorf: "This is unimaginable political audacity and support for terrorism of an official representative from the European Union. There is no other way to describe an expression of sorrow for the death of terrorists. We call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister of the Transitional Government Yair Lapid to immediately announce the expulsion of the hostile element, who only incites the area and supports the terrorists."

In the activity of the IDF forces, the IDF and the Shin Bet this morning, the wanted persons Abd Hazem and Ahmed Alawana were eliminated, who according to the police "were involved in several shooting attacks in recent times, including the shooting attack on a Ministry of Defense tractor near the village of Jalma on September 13.

In addition, they intended to carry out additional attacks.

During the operation and during the departure of the forces from Jenin, several terrorists in the area opened fire at the Border Guard and IDF forces, who responded by shooting. Several hits on the terrorists were identified."
