On video: Attack on protesters at Gesher Hamad (Walla system!)
Likud activist Rami Ben Yehuda reacted today (Wednesday) for the first time to his suspension from the Likud campaign, after he was recorded hitting a left-wing protester at the Hamad interchange.
In an interview with Linon Magal and Ben Caspit on 103FM, he said that he was given a hearing in the party, but stated that the activity in the party was not his job: "I did not receive a salary from the Likud. My ideology comes from me, I do not need thanks from Bibi. I am not a messenger of Bibi, I am a messenger of My ideology," he said.
Regarding the incident in which a protester was hit, Ben Yehuda claimed that when he arrived at the place where the protesters had gathered, they told him to leave.
"My democratic right to demonstrate," he said emphatically, and did not answer the questions regarding his actions there and his threats against the protesters in the post before arriving at the scene.
According to him, when he reached the bridge, he uploaded a post live, as he usually does.
"I was on this bridge 70 times, and when there were the Balfour protests, this Rami Matan and his friends - the one who hit me with the flag - those same people were violent there as well," he accused.

Ben Yehuda was one of the leaders of the demonstrations outside the homes of Yamina and New Tikva people, including the harassment of family members, and expressed harsh words against the members of the change government from the right-wing parties.
After the document in which he attacks a protester was circulated last Saturday, he was suspended from his position for which he was paid.
The person attacked is Rami Matan, a regular participant in anti-Netanyahu protests in recent years and considered a hero of the Yom Kippur War, when he fought and commanded the battle for the Chinese farm.
According to the protesters, this is the fifth attack in the last three weeks.
"The poison machine incites and the loyal supporters go out looking for the blood of protesters," it said.
