Gilching - A delegation from Cecina, Italy, is visiting Gilching for the May celebrations.

The Italians come into contact with members of the "Guichinger Brauchtum" association.

On the return visit, it turns out that more could come of it.

On the initiative of the Gilching Cecina Association, a delegation from the Cecina Targa Association was a guest at the May celebrations in Gilching this year.

First contacts were made between the friends from Cecina and the members of "Guichinger Brauchtum".

Now members of the customs association were invited to the Targa celebration in Cecina.

Five people from the association and two companions from the Cecina association in Gilching made their way to the twin town.

Tight program with banquet and Targa parade

They were accompanied by Jakob Promoli, the chairman of the Cecina association, who established contact with the key people in Cecina and looked after the people of Guiching during the tight program schedule in Cecina.

Also present was Carmen Alvino, a member of both the Cecina Association in Gilching and the Customs Association.

She was a valuable help as a translator.

Friends from Germany, Spain and France are celebrating in Italy

The day before the big Targa parade, a big banquet was announced, attended by delegations from the other sister cities of Cecina, Sagunto in Spain and Sin-le-Noble from France.

The spokesman for the Guichinger Traditions Group, Thomas Haidt, presented the President of the Targa Association, Alessandro Regoli, and the Cultural Officer of the Comune Cecina, Domenico Di Pietro, with a commemorative plaque as a gift.

The Oktoberfest beer carrier for the members of the Targa association was received with great hooray.

Guichinger delegation takes part in the pageant in Italy

On Sunday, the day of the Targa festival, the Guichinger delegation, dressed in their traditional costume and with their club flag, took part in the procession through the city.

During the stay, the discussions that had started in Gilching between the Targa Association and Guiching customs were continued and deepened.

"There are indications that the connection between the two traditional clubs could be expanded," says a press release.

In any case, the Cecinesi are planning to come back to Gilching in May.

The Cecina-Verein Gilching will accompany and support the exchange in the best possible way.

In addition to the customs delegation, an official delegation from the municipality of Gilching, consisting of Mayor Manfred Walter and the partnership officer Karin Keil, was also a guest in Cecina.

The political representatives of the municipalities of Cecina (Italy), Sagunto (Spain), Sin-le-Noble (France) and Gilching met in Cecina to plan cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus project.
