Almost two years after the end of Donald Trump's US presidency, there are still new revelations about his actions in the White House.
The latest book, written by New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, is called Confidence Man.
In it, she reports, among other things, that Trump was about to fire his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Both were hired as senior advisers to the White House.
Trump was on the verge of firing her via Twitter, Haberman writes, according to a CNN report.
His chief of staff at the time, John Kelly, advised him to at least talk to his children about the dismissal first.
The conversation then never took place, Ivanka Trump and Kushner remained in office.
However, Haberman, citing sources in the White House, writes that the ex-president nevertheless regularly complained about Kushner.
"He sounds like a kid," he is said to have said about his son-in-law.
"Why don't you get the food?"
Previously, Rolling Stone reported other revelations from Confidence Man.
Accordingly, Trump was noticed several times in the White House with racist remarks.
A scene takes place in the White House in January 2017.
According to the reports, Trump had only recently been inaugurated.
At a reception where appetizers were also to be served, there was a mix-up that could be described as revealing.
Leading representatives of Congress were invited, including the influential Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.
The top politicians appeared accompanied by senior congress officials of various ethnic origins.
Trump mistook these employees for waiters, the book says.
"Why don't you get the food?" Haberman quoted Trump as saying.
The mistake was pointed out to him by then White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.
