The Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the decision taken by the residents of Donbass to join the Russian Federation will inevitably save millions of citizens from the genocide at the hands of neo-Nazis.
"The decision that has been taken gives us the opportunity to jointly develop plans for the future later," RIA Novosti news agency quoted Volodin as saying in a statement today.
Over the past days, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions witnessed a referendum on joining Russia, where the overwhelming majority of citizens voted in favor of this accession.
