The Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hendrik Wüst (CDU), has called for a rapid energy price cap for electricity, gas and heat on behalf of the federal states.
The federal government must agree on this quickly, said Wüst on Wednesday in Berlin after a conference of state leaders who had discussed the planned third relief package against the consequences of the energy crisis.
Berlin – He called for a fair burden sharing between the federal and state governments.
The federal states are ready for constructive cooperation with the federal government in order to get people and the economy through the winter well.
Wüst, who is chairman of the Prime Ministers' Conference, also called for relief "not according to the watering can principle", with special consideration for lower and middle incomes.
