This year's Oktoberfest was rainy.
It remains cold and wet, but there is also hope for sunshine.
Munich – Because of the permanently cold and wet weather, mulled wine is available at the Wiesn for the first time in many years.
The prognosis remains bad.
Oktoberfest fans should therefore have an umbrella with them this week.
Because September of all places is the first month since February that is too wet.
Wiesn weather: Continuous rain on Wednesday
Most recently, stand operators served mulled wine at the Oktoberfest in 2008, when it was sometimes below ten degrees for days.
It's also cool and wet at this year's Wiesn.
"An extensive low-pressure complex with a center over northern Germany, together with polar sea air, determines the weather in Bavaria," said the German Weather Service (DWD) on Wednesday.
The south of Germany is heavily overcast on Wednesday and it rains again and again.
Up to 80 liters per square meter are occasionally possible within 48 hours.
At least in the later course of the day, meteorologists are still predicting sunny phases.
The maximum values are between 9 and 13 degrees.
