Time magazine puts Baerbock on list of 100 "rising stars"

New York – The famous US magazine
Time
has put Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) on the list of the 100 rising personalities in the world – the list is known as TIME100 Next.
The rationale for their selection, released Wednesday (September 28), was written by Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State in Joe Biden's cabinet.
"When I think about it, what makes me optimistic in these times is having a partner who so seamlessly blends principles and pragmatism." The minister made it despite global challenges, including Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine to bring the US and Germany and all transatlantic allies closer together, Blinken said.

“There is no question that the transatlantic relationship and the values on which it is built will be severely tested.
An accelerating climate crisis.
receding democracies.
A China that is becoming less and less free.
And of course the brutal war of President Vladimir Putin,” Blinken described the world situation in drastic terms.

But according to the American, the free world can rely on Baerbock.
"She has never lost faith in the inherent strength of our democracies, based on our freedom, our respect for human rights and our unique ability to better ourselves," Blinken continued.
"And she has a gift for getting more partners around that vision and making it a reality."

The
Time
feature introduces 100 "rising stars" from all walks of life and countries.
In addition to representatives from music, business, medicine and politics, TIME100 Next also includes activists and whistleblowers.
"What unites these individuals is their extraordinary efforts to shape our world — and determine our future," the magazine said.
The list is independent of the well-known
Time
ranking of the 100 most influential people in the world (TIME100) - a list in which, for example, the former Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) appeared several times.
Baerbock's tenure as Foreign Minister was heavily influenced by the Ukraine conflict.
The Greens politician campaigns for arms deliveries to the Eastern European country and accuses Russia of "unscrupulous, inhuman action" in the war of aggression.
