The President of the United States searched for a congresswoman and asked aloud where she was - about two months after she was killed in a car accident.
At a nutrition conference tonight (Thursday), Biden thanked conference organizers and then asked, "Jackie, are you here? Where's Jackie?", referring to Congresswoman Jackie Walorsky.

Walorski, a Republican congresswoman from Indiana, was one of the four organizers of the conference and was killed along with two of her staff on August 3.
No one corrected Biden's mistake and his speech went on as planned.
Republican congresswoman Vicki Hertzler wrote on Twitter that this was a "terrible and shameful spew."
When asked about the incident, White House spokeswoman Catherine Jean-Pierre replied that Biden "thanked her for her extraordinary work" and indicated that he intended to meet with her family.
"She was on his mind," she explained.
