Rio de Janeiro-SANA
At least three people were killed and others injured when a bridge collapsed in the northwestern Brazilian state of Amazonas.
And the Agence France-Presse news agency quoted the state government as saying in a statement: The bridge, located near the city of Carrero, about 100 km from Manaus, the state capital, collapsed yesterday morning, killing two men and a woman and injuring 14 others.
The state's fire brigade chief, Orlilson Muniz, said the death toll was likely to rise because the search for victims was still continuing, adding that a minibus was found with many people inside, but their whereabouts have not yet been determined.
