from the Bilbao police station was arrested this Thursday by Basque Police officers accused of drug trafficking.
At least 564 kilos of cocaine have been found in his home, as reported by the Basque Department of Security.
The arrest occurred after an investigation opened by the Ertzaintza Internal Affairs Headquarters.
The open investigations into this case are still under way to complete the proceedings that will be presented before the judge, the same sources have reported.
He is not the first regional police officer implicated in an alleged drug crime.
In June 2021, an operation led by the National Police Corps, in collaboration with the Portuguese Judiciary, made it possible to dismantle a network dedicated to drug trafficking in Medina del Campo (Valladolid) with the arrest of three people, including an Ertzaintza agent. with more than 20 years in the body, and the apprehension of 862 kilos of cocaine.

was arrested for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking in Bizkaia.
He was accused of belonging to a gang that obtained drugs from Galicia and which included five other people.
In this operation coordinated by the General Inspection Division of the Ertzaintza, it was resolved with the seizure of two kilos of cocaine, in addition to firearms, cash and high-end vehicles.
