The Berg and Icking studio days have been taking place annually for exactly 36 years.

It's that time again for the next two weekends.

Icking/Berg

– What is the magic formula that can bring about such continuity?

Hospitality plus enjoyment of art.

The Berg and Icking studio days have been taking place annually for exactly 36 years.

It's that time again for the next two weekends.

This year, 22 artists invite you to their studios.

A unique opportunity to get to know the painters and sculptors personally.

There are new guest artists, and a small museum has a permanent exhibition by the well-known sculptor Gerd Jäger from Farchach, who died last year.

“It works so well because there is no envy and no fighting.

We are a growing circle of friends,” says the artist Petra Jakob, who has been involved from the very beginning.

Anyone who knows the Berger Ateliertage knows what kind of welcoming culture prevails there.

The artists invite visitors into the studio, which is mostly in their own living environment.

There the art walkers, who stroll from studio to studio, get a personal insight into the work of the artists.

The studio days

The studio days Berg/Icking will take place on the next two weekends, 1./2.

and 8th/9th

October, instead.

The studios are open from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This year's guest artists are Johannes Thum, Allmannshausen (objects, installations);

Elisabeth Anzinger-Schlör, Aufhausen (painting);

Cornelia Hesse, Aufhausen (painting, sculpture);

Ines Voelchert, Aufkirchen (painting);

Sabine Kirchhoff, Irschenhausen (painting);

Isabelle Roth, Irschenhausen (painting) and Georg Schwachensattl, Irschenhausen (woodcut).

Franz Jäger (wooden sculptures) shows the works of his deceased father in the new Museum Gerd Jäger, Nikolausstraße 3, in Farchach.

All participating artists with addresses can be found online at www.atelier-tage.de.

There is no rush like at a vernissage in the gallery, where the visitors get on their feet.

People come and go as they please.

"This gives us artists the peace and quiet for extensive conversations," says Petra Jakob, appreciating this art campaign.

A visit to the studio is not a snapshot, like at a gallery exhibition, but rather a retrospective that shows the artist's development process over the years.

Petra Jakob has been actively involved for 36 years and is part of the organizational core team.

"We do a lot of things ourselves so that the costs remain manageable," explains the Irschenhausen artist.

She herself develops photographic metamorphoses on parchment paper, mounted on a wooden body or canvas, mostly large-format, abstract, mystical and incomparable.

There is a simple reason why the well-known studio days in Berg and Icking still take place every year: "We are not an association with a concrete structure, with posts and chiefs." The group works according to the "free chaos principle", as it is called it Petra Jacob.

So it's time again: walk in, chat, be amazed.
