The corona rules in Baden-Württemberg will not be tightened for the time being.
The country even wants to go one step further and is calling for the abolition of the obligation to isolate in the event of a corona infection.
Stuttgart - On Tuesday, the state government in Baden-Württemberg passed the new Corona regulations for the upcoming winter.
According to the current status, the applicable regulations will be largely retained and only adapted to the new federal infection protection law, as reported by BW24.
There will therefore be no mask requirement in restaurants and shops for the time being.
If it goes to Baden-Württemberg and three other federal states, the obligation to isolate people infected with corona should also be abolished and more personal responsibility should be placed on them.
In a letter, they asked Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD) to make changes.

Baden-Württemberg's Health Minister Manfred Lucha (Greens) and his counterparts from Schleswig-Holstein, Hesse and Bavaria are calling on Karl Lauterbach to change the rule by October 10 at the latest.

The Federal Minister of Health immediately rejected the proposal by the federal states to end the obligation to isolate.
"We will not tackle the corona isolation obligation," emphasized Lauterbach in Berlin.
In view of the increasing number of cases, in his view one would only “pour oil on the fire” and thus increase the risk of infections occurring in companies or at meetings.
However, the south-west as well as Bavaria, Hesse and Schleswig-Holstein insist on following Austria's example.
There, the separation obligation was already abolished in August.
In addition, there is an FFP2 mask requirement for corona infected people and a ban on visiting care facilities or clinics.
Despite the infection, Austrians are generally allowed to go to work, but with protective measures.
The figures in the neighboring country also show that this does not necessarily mean that there is a risk of an increase.

State Health Minister Lucha argues that the corona virus in Baden-Württemberg will eventually have to be treated like any other infectious disease.
Mandatory isolation is no longer appropriate.
Lucha relies more on personal responsibility: anyone who is sick should voluntarily stay at home.
However, if the seven-day incidence in the country worsens significantly in the coming weeks, he has already promised further rules.
Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) has long seen Baden-Württemberg in the transition to endemic.
But he is also observing developments closely and drawing conclusions from them.
However, one must also recognize that the federal government is now holding the reins.
"She is now responsible for strategic issues herself," said Kretschmann at a press conference.
