After the summer break, things are changing in the “Miteinand” café in Bad Tölz.

Among other things, there is a new carrier.

New rooms are also being sought.

Bad Tölz - May it be the French?

A croissant with butter and jam.

Or rather the Irish?

A porridge with hot raspberries, honey and cinnamon.

Or how about the Italian?

A plate of ham, olives, tomatoes and mozzarella.

The breakfast selection at “Café Miteinand” sounds delicious.

After the summer break, you can feast there every Thursday morning from September 29th in the evangelical community center in Bad Tölz.

People with and without disabilities work in the inclusion café, which has been open since the end of 2019.

For them it is an opportunity to try out the general job market.

Shortly before the summer holidays, Tanja Rudolph and Sabine Richter, the initiators of the café, thanked the young people and the volunteers for their work in the café.

The students from the Tölzer Von Rothmund School and the Montessori School in Munich “Aktion Sonnenschein” bid farewell and received their certificates and letters of reference.

New provider wants to give young people a job

Recently, the Diakonie is no longer responsible for the café.

Instead, Tanja Rudolph and Sabine Richter founded the “SichtBar im Oberland” gGmbH in July.

"We wanted to give the whole thing a face and make ourselves a bit independent," explains Rudolph.

The aim of "SichtBar" is to set up an inclusive company with permanent jobs on the general labor market.

However, the appropriate premises, including a kitchen, are currently missing.

"We are looking for a location that can be open Monday through Sunday to provide employment for young people," explains Rudolph.

You have a farm in mind.

"That would be ideal." Because several things could be connected there.

For example, autistic people who don't like being around people could take on other tasks,

such as growing vegetables or taking care of animals, Rudolph notes.

You can also book catering via "SichtBar".

"We supply birthdays, weddings, company celebrations," lists Rudolph.

“We have a Whatsapp group in which the students are written to if they would like to help.

Most were 120 people that we cooked for.”

Von Rothmund School withdraws

Another change after the summer holidays will be that initially no more pupils from the Von Rothmund School will work in the “Café Miteinand”.

"That's a shame," says Rudolph, but at the same time emphasizes: "We're always open to a conversation." When asked by our newspaper, the Von Rothmund School confirmed that there were no students working in the "Café Miteinand" this school year .

Reasons for this were not given.

For the time being, only students from the Munich school “Aktion Sonnenschein” will work in the café for three months.

"The internship always lasts three months," explains Rudolph.

“We are also open to other schools,” she emphasizes.

Because it is important to her that the students mix with each other.
