Five months after his election as mayor, Rudolf Sonnleitner invited everyone in Oberhausen to a well-attended town hall meeting.

Oberhausen - In his 40-page annual report, Sonnleitner listed a number of important measures and future projects - such as the around 2.5 million euro renovation of the town hall.

"It's now complete, apart from a few small things, and is being funded with 758,000 euros," he said.

The mayor was pleased that the new rooms were busy and that they were filled with life at exhibitions and other events.

There is a café and a hairdresser's shop, and singing, dancing and yoga groups and the church choir are regular guests in the town hall.

An occupancy plan can be viewed on the website of the municipality.

A new loudspeaker system in the meeting room should also enable citizens with hearing problems to take part in council meetings in the future.

The parking lot in front of the town hall is to be planted with trees and shrubs, and two e-charging stations have already been ordered.

The mayor put the costs for the construction work on the parking lot conversion at 175,000 euros.

Archive maintenance

A volunteer archivist is currently being sought to view and catalog the numerous documents in the municipal archive.

finance

Oberhausen is debt-free and is expected to have 3.6 million euros in reserves by the end of this year.

At 1.5 million euros, the income tax share is at the previous year's level, but the trade tax rate at 260,000 euros is significantly lower than in 2021. This year the municipality can expect 666,000 euros in key allocations.

broadband expansion

A good 30 percent of Oberhauser households already have broadband connections.

"So far we have buried around 800,000 euros, with 600,000 euros being funded," reported the mayor.

So far, the plans have envisaged that the municipality would have to spend a further 4.2 million euros with its own contribution of around 400,000 euros.

There are currently two providers for a free expansion (we reported), the municipal council wants to make a decision shortly.

bike lanes

Initial talks about a cycle path to Polling took place with representatives of the municipality and the road construction department.

They want to get Deutsche Bahn on board, as some of the required areas are located directly along the Munich-Garmisch railway line.

There are plans to extend the path along the railway line at the Berger crossing to the Waldorf school in Huglfing.

That would be practical for the students at the secondary schools in Weilheim, vice versa, students in Pollingen could use the cycle path to the Huglfinger middle school.

There is currently no current information on the planning status and time horizon for the planned cycle path to Peißenberg.

housing

The planning work for the Westenriederhaus is now being resumed after a long break.

Ten to twelve apartments of various sizes are to be built for one to five-person households.

In the meantime, the building has been rented to the Huglfing management group.

There is a municipal council resolution from October 2020 that is intended to secure the preservation of part of the building.

A meeting was recently held with representatives of the government of Upper Bavaria to explore funding options based on the current housing subsidies.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.)

energy use

Oberhausen wants to achieve independence from fossil fuels by 2035 with specific projects for homeowners, businesses and municipalities.

The municipality is supported by specialists from the Oberland energy transition from Penzberg, who intend to present an energy balance with the current status and an analysis of the potential for energy savings and generation by the end of January 2023.

The first major event on solar energy took place last spring, and a second on heating a few days ago.

bathing pond

According to Sonnleitner, the water quality from the former Berger drinking water supply is good, and the body of water is now being rehabilitated in accordance with nature.

Because at the bottom of the bathing pond is partially silted up, above seaweed fields.

The microbiology of the water body is gradually activated in order to reduce the general nutrient overload.

The aim of the method used is to stimulate the microorganisms in the water and sludge to become more active and grow, and thus to break down the excess nutrients in the water.

Traffic

Sonnleitner described the high volume of traffic through the town and announced that a crossing aid for pedestrians should defuse the situation when turning from Bahnhofstrasse to Seestrasse.

At a traffic show, they want to discuss further measures.

children's home

"Our team is complete," said the mayor, pleased about the increase in personnel for the children's home at Storchennest.

Two crèches and three kindergarten groups are currently being cared for there.

helpers on site

Last summer, the "helpers on site Huglfing-Oberhausen" started their active service at the nearest community.

In the first four weeks there were over 20 assignments.

There are currently 16 trained volunteer first aiders involved;

In an emergency, their job is to bridge the time between therapy and the arrival of the emergency doctor or rescue service.

More information for those interested in working is available on 0176 / 203 645 63, as reported by Sonnleitner.
