.

It is the protest of the bakers of Naples and Campania organized today by Unipan Confcommercio Campania which also saw bakers from other regions of the Center-South take to the streets.

To decree the '' death '' of the sector the expensive electricity and gas bills but also the increase of all raw materials starting from flour and oil: it is feared that the price of the product could reach seven to eight euros the kilo.

The bakers announce that "soon" there will be a lockout.

'' We are tired, we have been victims of speculation on bills for a year - denounces Domenico Filosa, president of the trade association - many bakeries have already closed and when many others close then politics will have to assume all the responsibilities not only towards us and towards our employees, but also towards the population because when there is no bread on the tables, history teaches us that there are revolutions ''.

The bakers report increases in electricity and gas bills between 700 and 800 percent, with bills that went from one thousand to 7-8 thousand euros in August.

"Today free bread, because tomorrow maybe there will be no more bread" shouted a protester.

'' With these bills and these increases in raw materials - explained Antonio Rescigno, baker from Pozzuoli - we will be forced to bring bread at a price that is unattainable for many people and bread will become a luxury item ".
