Landsberg – He has not only developed into a sporting figurehead for his team, he is also one of the strongest racing cyclists in the region: Dennis Biederer.
The 29-year-old from Landsberger from the Impuls cycling team just missed the podium in the Black Forest.
A strong end to a strong season.
Biederer was the only representative of his Impulse cycling team at the three-day RiderMan stage race in Bad Dürrnheim.
The fact that he performed extremely well in the last cycling marathons was reason for a healthy self-confidence to be able to cope with this racing format.
Right at the start, Dennis showed a strong leg in the time trial (16 km/191 hm).
But: Biederer rode the prologue on a racing bike and not on a time trial bike.
With an aerodynamically optimized bike he would certainly have gained more time.
Result: 24th overall, 16th in age group.
The hilly stage on Saturday (121 km/1,990 m elevation gain) was to the liking of the Impuls pilot in terms of profile.
In the midst of a 500-man field, some of them ex-professionals and well-known teams, he wanted to drive an offensive race.
Although Biederer was able to assert himself well, he was "built in" in a decisive attack.
The hunt for the five well-known escapees was not crowned with success: 8th and 4th place (AK).
Not losing any time and maintaining the good overall position was the order of the day for the final stage (100 km/1,006 m elevation gain) on Sunday.
The most striking moment in the race was the three-headed escape from the field of pursuers, in which Biederer plucked up courage at the decisive moment and threw everything into the balance again with two companions.
The fact that the man from Lechstadt was even able to make up further positions in a brilliant final sprint - with the peloton breathing down his neck - was a crowning glory: 7th and 4th place.
Biederer finished seventh overall and fourth in his age group.
