Two teachers at a crèche in Duderstadt are said to have used force to force children to eat.

The day care center has now announced that it intends to continue employing those who have been released.

Parents are outraged.

Duderstadt – Has there been physical abuse of children in a Catholic daycare center in the Nesselröden district of Duderstadt in the Göttingen district?

The public prosecutor's office in Göttingen has been investigating this question for several weeks.

This is reported by hna.de.

The reason for the investigation, which is about the suspicion of endangering the child's well-being, is a criminal complaint filed against two employees by parents.

The teachers concerned were released from work in July 2022 after the allegations became known.

Now there is a new development.

The parish of St. Georg wrote to the parents of the day-care center children and informed them that the educators would be reinstated next week.

This decision has met with resistance from some parents.

They therefore want to take legal action against it.

The parents could not understand why the educators continued to be employed even though the criminal investigations had not yet been completed, says attorney Steffen Hörning, who acted as a joint plaintiff for several parents in the proceedings.

A total of seven children would be listed as victims in the process.

The parents are concerned because if the childcare workers continue to work, the children will again meet the people against whom the investigation is directed.

The parents are also worried about the other children.

As the spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Göttingen, Frank Michael Laue, confirmed, the case is still pending with the prosecution authority.

"The investigation is still ongoing," he said.

According to media reports, parents are said to have accused the concerned educators, among other things, of forcing crèche children to eat during mealtimes under the influence of violence.

According to the co-plaintiff Steffen Hörning, some parents do not want to accept this.

He announced that they intend to file an application for temporary legal protection with the Administrative Court of Göttingen this week.

With the urgent application, they wanted to prevent the educators from continuing to work in the daycare center from October.

The application is based on a regulation in the Social Security Code.

According to this, an authority can prohibit the operator of a facility requiring a permit from continuing to employ the manager, an employee or other employee completely or for certain functions or activities "if facts justify the assumption that he does not have the suitability required for his job." Again and again there are scandals in church institutions, unfortunately children are often involved in the incidents.

Pope Francis is due to make amends for the abuse of thousands of indigenous children in church schools during a trip to Canada in the summer of 2022.
