In the future, the Tutzinger Yacht Club hosts will be cooking in the Germeringer Stadthalle.

Andreas and Dana Fink would like to continue as caterers at Lake Starnberg.

But the yacht club doesn't want that.

Tutzing

– The restaurateurs Andreas and Dana Fink have terminated their contract with the German Touring Yacht Club in Tutzing after seven years.

They take over the hospitality in the Germeringer Stadthalle.

The contract with the yacht club would have run for two more years, says its second chairman Thomas Giebelhausen when asked: "We were surprised."

Andreas Fink runs the company "Sapore Catering", with which he is active in a larger regional area, and also the bistro on the Tutzinger museum ship in Kustermannpark, one of the attractions of the lake community.

In the future, Fink wants to offer catering both in the yacht club and on the museum ship, as he told the Starnberger Merkur.

According to Vice Chairman Giebelhausen, the yacht club is already in talks with a successor.

It is a restaurateur from the region who can use synergies.

"We just can't get along with catering," says Giebelhausen.

In the conversation, Fink emphasized that his two previous Tutzinger restaurants were seasonal businesses: "You have to see that you can make ends meet.

You can't just work for four months and do nothing else.

Nothing comes from nothing." The chairman of the museum ship association, Matthias Helbig, showed understanding for Fink's plans: "He needs a mainstay in winter, that's an addition for him - I have nothing against that." The contract with the museum ship Fink has not yet resigned from the club.

Fink previously had six permanent employees in Tutzing.

In Germering there should be six to seven people.

The Stadthalle has been without an innkeeper for around two years.

The previous tenants had terminated their contract in 2020 due to the effects of Corona.

The Germeringers finally commissioned an agency to look for a successor, as Stadthalle director Medea Schmitt reported at the presentation of the finks.

Those would then have prevailed among 30 applicants.

It will be a while before the two open the restaurant in the Stadthalle.

Urgently needed repairs and renovations are currently being carried out there.

Guest room and kitchen are currently a construction site.

Until the opening, however, Andreas and Dana Fink will already be offering a catering service for all events in the house.

Fink introduced himself to Germering as a South Tyrolean who had traveled the world for his job.

Before coming to Germany, he worked as a chef and restaurateur in England for 14 years.

The longing for his homeland then brought him to Bavaria.

He doesn't want to return to South Tyrol, but at least he wants to get closer to the northernmost part of Italy.

And so the choice fell on the Munich region.

His wife Dana Fink, whom he met in a South Tyrolean kitchen, supported the decision.

For the Stadthalle, Andreas Fink promises South Tyrolean cuisine that offers more than dumplings and bacon.

He doesn't want to rush the start from the fence.

He is currently still looking for staff – a difficult matter in the industry.

In addition, he must familiarize himself with all the processes in the house, including catering at events, before he can say more about future operations.
