US authorities have asked two million people to leave the beaches of southwest Florida as Hurricane Ian arrives, bringing rainstorms and strong winds.
And US media quoted the US National Hurricane Center as saying that Hurricane Ian, which made landfall in southwest Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, with continuous winds with a maximum speed of 185 kilometers per hour, could cause damage and losses exceeding $67 billion.
The hurricane also caused power outages for one million and 114 thousand people.
According to the US National Hurricane Center, the hurricane will head north on Friday, approaching the coasts of northeastern Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
