Higher energy and food prices, as well as the expiry of the €9 ticket and fuel discount, have further fueled inflation in the region.
In September, consumer prices in Berlin were 9.6 percent higher than a year earlier, in Brandenburg 9.9 percent, as the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistics Office announced on Thursday.
Berlin – It became more expensive in almost all areas of life, especially energy.
Heating oil and gas cost about twice as much in Berlin as in September 2021, and a little more in Brandenburg.
Coal and wood pellets also became significantly more expensive.
Food prices are about 19 percent higher than last year.
