Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi considered the energy crisis a common threat to the European Union countries.
And the Italian agency Aki quoted Draghi as saying on the eve of the extraordinary European Energy Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow in the Belgian capital, Brussels: “The energy crisis requires from Europe a response that allows reducing costs for families and companies, limiting the exceptional gains achieved by producers and importers, and avoiding dangerous and unforeseen distortions. Justified for the internal market, and to preserve the unity of Europe in the face of the state of emergency.”
He added: "In the face of common threats, we cannot divide ourselves according to the space in our national budgets, and we must be coherent and united."
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, recently warned of the worsening energy crisis within the borders of the European Union, noting that the European emergency plan for gas in the coming months aims to help meet winter needs.
