US President Joe Biden's foreign policy is better perceived in Europe than in his own country, thanks in particular to his efforts to resist the Russian invasion of Ukraine, according to a transatlantic poll released on Thursday, September 29.

According to this poll of 14 countries conducted by the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a research center based in Washington, the approval rating of Joe Biden's foreign policy is higher in Europe than in the United States in all countries surveyed except Italy and Turkey.

Thus, in Poland, where his popularity is the highest, 74% of those questioned said they totally or partially approved of the foreign policy of the American president, against 13% who said they disapproved.

Poland is one of Ukraine's strongest supporters in the EU.

The approval rate exceeds 60% in Lithuania, Romania, Portugal, Sweden and Germany.

In France, some 49% of those questioned said they approved of his foreign policy against 40% saying the opposite.

In the United States, 47% responded supporting Joe Biden's foreign policy.

Little support for military intervention in Taiwan

According to this transatlantic poll, 64% considered the United States to be the most influential country in the world, up slightly from last year.

The European Union comes second, ahead of China, according to the survey.

In addition, the survey underlines the lack of support for a possible American military intervention in Taiwan in the event that China decides to invade the island.

Only 7% of Americans say they are in favor of it, and even fewer in Europe.
