Large-scale operation due to a gas leak at a school: 15 students were injured at a comprehensive school in Idstein (Hesse).

Much is still unclear.

There is a suspicion.

Update from September 29, 4:35 p.m .:

The number of students injured in a gas leak has been corrected down to 15.

Initially, there was talk of at least 23 injured students in the course of the incident at a comprehensive school in Idstein, southern Hesse.

75 students complained about eye and respiratory irritation and were examined on site.

A total of around 120 helpers were on duty.

Although there was no longer any danger in the afternoon, school operations were temporarily suspended.

School administration, police and emergency counselors looked after concerned parents who came to the school.

First report from September 29th:

Bad Schwalbach – The whole school had to be cleared around noon, local media reports.

At least 23 children are injured according to the first data from the disaster control of the Rheingau-Taunus district.

18 of the injured had to be transported to nearby hospitals.

A gas leak occurred at a comprehensive school in Idstein (Hesse).

It was initially unclear what type of gas it was.

Tear gas may have been sprayed, said a spokesman for civil protection.

Two rescue helicopters, around 30 ambulances and around ten emergency doctors were deployed in the large-scale operation on Thursday.

The streets around the affected school were blocked by emergency vehicles.

Parents should head for a neighboring train station.
