Munich – The Munich Wiesn is actually a place to have fun and unwind.

Visitors should still be wary of thieves and keep an eye on their bags and jackets.

However, one cannot protect oneself against every danger, as one incident shows.

Oktoberfest 2022: Wiesn visitors lose their mobile phones in the ride

A 57-year-old Wiesn visitor was unsuspectingly walking across the Theresienwiese on Thursday afternoon when a cell phone fell on her head out of the blue.

The device came flying with such force that the woman from Munich sustained a head injury.

As a result of the incident, the 57-year-old suffered a laceration on the head, as the Wiesn medical station announced.

She went to the Aich ambulance station, where the wound was then sewn up.

The mobile phone was operated in the wrong flight mode, concluded the spokesman for the ambulance, Markus Strobl.

Not for the first time: Unsecured mobile phones endanger Wiesn visitors

The mobile phone was probably not stowed away safely by another Oktoberfest visitor and fell down while driving.

It is not known in which ride the mobile phone was lost.

The hottest candidates are probably the chain flyer, the Olympia Looping, the Skyfall and the FlipFly.

It is not the first time that an abandoned mobile phone has caused injured Oktoberfest visitors.

A few days ago a man lost his mobile phone on the chairoplane.

During the search, he climbed into cordoned off areas, fell into a dog kennel, and was bitten by a showman's dog.
