The Neufahrner have to go to Freising or Moosburg for ice skating again this year.

The personnel committee has now stopped the CSU's ice rink plans.

Neufahrn

- It was about the ice rink on the Neufahrn market square.

But even before the CSU's application to rebuild the ice rink this year was discussed in the personnel, social and cultural committee on Wednesday, it was hotly debated, said Mayor Franz Heilmeier.

So this time there wasn’t much discussion, the CSU’s application was narrowly rejected with a score of 5: 6.

The topic has already been discussed within the Christsoziale

CSU faction leader Burghard Rübenthal reported that there had been long and intensive discussions about the request in his own parliamentary group.

"We didn't make it easy for ourselves." But after two years in which the ice rink could not be set up due to the Corona situation, and after weighing up all the arguments, it was decided that this highlight should take place again.

As a municipality and municipal council, one is called upon to offer the citizens a “homeland worth living in”, the ice rink is particularly important for the children, who would otherwise fall by the wayside again, as stated in the application.

Rübenthal, who pointed out that the municipality of Allershausen had voted the day before to set up an ice rink and that the ice rinks also went into operation in Moosburg and Freising (we reported), summarized:

Two new machines should help to save energy

As determined by the administration, the ice rink consumes between 30,000 and 40,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per six-week season, depending on the weather.

The costs should therefore be around 10,500 euros, not including price increases.

Rübenthal also brought the latest news with him: Energy could be saved by purchasing two new ice-making machines.

Frommhold-Buhl: In Moosburg or Freising it's about the future of clubs

But even that could not convince Julia Mokry (Greens): She thanked the CSU for their efforts, but the Greens group could not agree to this from the current point of view of energy saving.

Beate Frommhold-Buhl (SPD) saw it that way: If Rübenthal refers to the ice rinks in Moosburg and Freising, then you have to know that the future of clubs depends on their operation.

When deciding whether to have an ice rink in Neufahrn or not, it's not so much about the costs as it is about the energy consumed there: And in her eyes, that's "not justifiable".

Heilmeier also based his no on that, as he said.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Stephanie Pflügler (FW) spoke out in favor of the CSU application: “The ice rink is simply part of it.

I stand for the ice rink." However, this put Pflügler in the minority on the committee: the vote on the CSU application resulted in a narrow rejection with 5:6 votes, and there will be no ice rink in Neufahrn in 2022 either.
