Reus before returning to BVB team training: Kobel not yet fit

National soccer player Marco Reus should return to team training at Borussia Dortmund next week.

"With Marco Reus it's not as bad as feared at the beginning.

We hope that he can start team training again next week so that he will be rebuilt from next week and be available again for the upcoming tasks," said BVB coach Edin Terzic on Thursday.

Dortmund – According to this, a Champions League assignment for the Dortmund captain next Wednesday at FC Sevilla would be conceivable.

The 33-year-old injured his foot almost two weeks ago in the 1-0 derby against FC Schalke.

Initially, a serious injury and the end of the World Cup in Qatar at the end of November were feared.

Sports director Sebastian Kehl quickly gave the all-clear and spoke of an ankle ligament injury.

A good ten days ago, Kehl had also forecast a downtime of “three to four weeks”.

According to Terzic, Reus should now be back much faster.

On Saturday at 1. FC Köln, Reus will be out, as will goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and Giovanni Reyna.

The 19-year-old US international was injured in the USA's international match against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

"It's a strain.

He will be out for seven to ten days,” reported Terzic.

"We hope he'll be available again after the Sevilla game."

For regular goalkeeper Kobel, who is suffering from a torn muscle fiber and back problems, the game in Cologne comes too early.

The Swiss could guard the Dortmund goal again in Seville.

At FC, substitute keeper Alexander Meyer plays again.
